I wanted to write this because Lethis resembles my favorite city builder of all time, Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom, a bit too much. I've not heard anyone else make the connection to that particular Impressions game, but to the overarching ideas instead.However, the mechanics and art style look almost identical, with only a thematic difference - the way the people walk, the type of decorations, the specific buildings like the maintenance tower. All of this looks unmistakably similar.The growing seasons, the crumbling, the exact upgrade paths, the way you distribute resources to your civilians, the end game industrial production, the specific type of storage sites, the kind or resource extraction, the exact look of roads, the entry point for workers, the animations of everything, everything about this game just screams 'ripped off.' I understand taking an idea and expanding upon it, but how does this expand? In what way at all is it different from Emperor? It looks like, if anything, it has slightly less. The textures have less detail, the game crashes like crazy, and a lot of the balancing, like giving more leeway when a serviceman misses a stop, are left right out.I wonder if someone were to deconstruct the code from this if they would find actual copy right infringement.

I cannot get over how the pathfinding looks 100% identical to Emperor, especially in the reliance on road blocks, and the way the workers move about.Can anyone tell me any differences between Lethis and Emperor besides the lack of polish? No one made the connection before?

Umm, literally everyone has, the whole point of Lethis was to be like the old Impressions titles. Just Emperor too? How about Caesar 3, Zeus, and Pharaoh? There's a thread right here complaining about the whole walker system being the same as the old Impressions games.

Another thread asking if it's Caesar 3 remastered. All review sites call it a spiritual successor and it is. Copying game mechanics isn't copyright infringement otherwise we would never have any new games.Tilted Mill—former Impressions people—were supposed to do the exact same thing with Medieval Mayor, but they failed to produce a game. If they can't do it, might as well let someone else.

In this case, 6 people made Lethis (their first game) over 9 months. If this game is a financial success, it might reinvigorate the genre and might even revive Medieval Mayor. I bought the GOG versions of Pharoah/Cleo and Zeus, but they just won't run on my pc it's a 64bit touchscreen all in one, now I can play then on my old laptop 32bit with the widescreen fixes, but the screen is too small I can see it but I have to strain, I like a big screen my allinone is 23 inches so a massive difference, when I load the games on my allinone the screen goes black and I have to reboot every time, I have a dedicated graphic card nvedia, it could be something to do with that, but I'm not really tech savvy so don't know.
